A crown bit «Carbonado» is recommended for drilling rocks of IX-X (partially XI) drillability indices (the unified index Pm=22.8-76.9)
Drilling parameters:
Axial load up to 1400 kg force
Rotation speed 5-10 sec-1
Flow rate of washing fluid 1.3 liter/sec
Permissible optimization of parameters for natural rocks is
±25%.The crown bit break-in procedure on the bottom hole lasts 10-15 min.
Running onto the bottom hole must be accomplished with the rotation and washing. Steel or cast iron wedging must not be applied.
During the drilling along cracks or variable rocks, it is recommended to reduce loads by 2-3 times till the stabilization of a tool.
